The commonmark dingus' edit box is inaccessible to some screen reader users

Hello,
The Commonmark.js Dingus’ edit box is not usable by some screen reader users. I’m using Firefox and NVDA. According to the screen reader, the contents of the edit box apear below it when I type into it, and the box apears blank. I know something has changed in the dingus since October or November last year, because at that time everything worked as expected. Could you fix this please?
Thank you.

I’m sorry to hear this. We switched to using the ACE editor for the input box; this helped facilitate sync scroll with the preview window, which we didn’t have before. I’m not sure exactly how ACE works, but I’ll bet this is why you’re noticing a difference.

We could switch back to using a regular edit box, though we’d lose some nice features (like the highlighting of the part of the preview corresponding to the current line in the edit box).

I don’t have any idea on how the dingus works, but maybe you could put
two modes, the current one as default and one with a regular edit box?
Just wondering.

That’s a good idea. I assume there’s some way to detect in JavaScript whether the site is being viewed with a screen reader?

No, there isn’t any way of knowing that. I was thinking on a button or
link which would toggle the two edit boxes.
