Reading the spec today, I noticed that it uses the term “pointy brackets” for the characters <
and >
.
This confused me initially: I’ve not seen this term before, and I wanted to confirm it wasn’t referring to {
and }
(which have a point in the middle!).
Would you be open to using the term “angle brackets” instead? Googling suggests that “angle brackets” is much more widely used for these characters.
The spec uses “angle brackets” in one place, and “pointy brackets” in five places. As far as I can see there’s no difference between the terms as far as the spec is concerned.
