At Classeur.io we have been discussing the potential support for an align=right feature.

My question to the community is, if align right was a useful feature to pursue, then how do we proceed from here to benefit third-party applications using Markdown, such as Classeur?

Since right alignment is not on the 1.0 release roadmap if specified this feature would likely be part of an extension to CommonMark.
There have been discussions relating to how alignment could be implemented with consistent attribute syntax.

So, as far as I can see alignment won’t be forgotten in the discussion and might some day appear, hopefully.
