Went ahead and wrote a tangentially related [proposal for full-width formatting characters](https://talk.commonmark.org/t/support-for-full-width-formatting-characters/2517). It would make the furigana within entirely full-width Japanese text thing possible (e.g. `いい［提案］【ていあん】ですね。`).
